The Japanese Macaque is indigenous to Japan,and is the most northly living ohter than man. Although related to the colobus monkey,it has a shot tail and iswell suited to hte cold. Although omnivorous,it feeds mainly on plants,and has cheek pouches in which it can temporarily store food.
